First to make a plug
These plugs were simple to make as we had an existing canopy to copy. A setting type compound is needed. Here I used a fast setting floor levellor. Setting type drywall compound could be used as well as plaster of paris or something similar. The main thing is that it should be very fine grained. The canopy was filled with the stuff; a smooth board placed over it and the whole lot flipped over so it could set without deforming. Some wood screwed to the board can be used to hold the sides in if necessary. After removing them from the mold I set these aside for a day or two to dry out some. The original canopy wasn't scratched or damaged in any way by the product shown.
